From the 7th century Mayans to the 17th and 18th century chocolate houses of Europe, sipping chocolate was all the rage for over a thousand years.
Ciocchino has been created to revive this tradition of real "sipping" chocolate which, nowadays, you can generally only enjoy in certain parts of Italy and Spain
Until now that is...
Hot chocolates today are invariably made with cocoa powder, sugar and milk, or sometimes even water, to produce an overly sweet drink which bears little relation to chocolate.
In contrast, Ciocchino is made with only very high grade, solid dark chocolate and a light alternative to dairy whipping cream - and no added sugar.
Ciocchino’s delicious chocolate comes in two varieties, Guayaquil (64% cocoa with hints of pepper, aniseed, liquorice and Arabic coffee) and Mi-Amère (58% cocoa for those who prefer their chocolate less dark and sweeter). Ask your barista what yours is!
